Family Friendly Trips

There are many different options for families with kids 4-16 years old to choose from. The South Fork American River hosts many of those trip, ranging from a 2 hour float to a day trip.

South Fork Young Rafters Trip

This 2 hour trip through Class 2 rapids is one we can take kids as young as 4. A great introduction to whitewater rafting, families and kids will raft through a 4 mile scenic, historical section of the South Fork. There will be opportunities to swim, pick blackberries, skip rocks, and even let the kids try to steer the boat. We introduce the young ones on the necessary equipment needed, how to safely paddle a raft, the commands needed, and the history of the area.

South Fork Options

For Kids 7 years and older, The South Fork has many other sections to choose from such as

• Gorge One Day Trip – Raft the lower 14 miles through Class 2-3 rapids with Lunch Included.
• Afternoon Half Day – Spend the afternoon rafting, swimming, and enjoying the lower 11 miles
• Morning Half Day – Raft the upper 10 miles through historical sites and exciting Class 3 rapids.
• South Fork 2 Day Trip – Combine 2 days of rafting with 2 nights of camping, 5 meals, and over 40 years of professional service and rafting trips.
